Falling In Love With Maui

Falling In Love With Maui
Aloha Family & Friends,
Every autumn, a wave of vibrant events washes over the island, reminding us exactly why we fall in love with Maui all over again. But this year, one spectacular gathering captured the magic of the season all on its own.
Held on September 19th, Mele for Maui delivered an enchanting evening you could only find in paradise. Set on the idyllic 5th hole of the Kāʻanapali Royal Golf Course, against the classic backdrop of the Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, the evening began as twilight settled in. The awe-inspiring power of the 64-piece Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra swept the audience away with a breathtaking performance. Joining the orchestra under the stars were some of Hawaiʻi’s most celebrated guest performers, including Raiatea Helm, Keola Beamer, John Cruz, and Amy Hānaialiʻi, whose talents perfectly complemented the orchestral grandeur.
Was it a stuffy, formal affair? Not at all. Residents and visitors were simply invited to bring their own chairs. And we did, three thousand of us. The sheer power of the music drifted through the crowd, washing over the moonlit lawn like a soft evening trade wind. It was relaxed, community-focused, totally Maui style, and truly a treat for all.
Speaking of fall festivities, our island infatuation is just getting started. We are eagerly anticipating the return of the Kula Country Farms Pumpkin Patch, a cherished and undeniably adorable Upcountry tradition. Beyond taking in the sweeping ocean views, you can stroll through the fields to pick your favorite pumpkins, squash, or decorative gourds, sample delicious local snacks, and sip their famous Kula Strawberry Lemonade.
Then, make sure to save the date for October 23–25, when the Hawaiʻi Food & Wine Festival comes right here to Kāʻanapali. It’s an absolute dream weekend for island foodies. Expect world-renowned chefs, master mixologists, and acclaimed winemakers coming together for unforgettable oceanfront tastings, signature dinners, and incredible dishes spotlighting local, island-grown ingredients. Whether you come for a single tasting or play in the annual golf tournament, it’s all about great food, fantastic drinks, and good times in support of our local farming community.
Between the symphony strings, Upcountry pumpkins, and world-class culinary showcases, our autumn love affair with Maui shows no signs of fading anytime soon. In the meantime, treat yourself to your favorite pumpkin spice delight, and we’ll look forward to catching up with you next month!
